I hold dear the memories I have of Sheila's open-mindedness, generosity, kindness, loyalty and resilience; and of her sense of fun, laughter, warmth and welcome which she retained to the last. Geraldine

Wonderful happy memories of Auntie Sheila, such an interesting, lively and energetic person, who was always fun to be with. Memories of numerous visits to Merriot on my way back and forth to Plymouth to see my mother (also called Sheila, her brother Tony's wife), where, either on my own, with my mother, or in the early days when her brother Tony was alive, with all my family of 4 children (Tom, Anna, Laura, and Ben!) she would always entertain us to a delicious lunch (quite an undertaking when I came with all my four!) Also very happy memories of her participation in Anna's wedding preparations, and of her stay at Owlpen for my mum's 80th birthday. Lots of happy memories of Sunday lunches in Chessington when I was young, one especially that resulted in the famous 'Auntie Sheila's Pudding' - Sherry Log - a surprisingly simple concoction of choc chip cookies dipped in sherry and sandwiched together with cream, and then covered in grated chocolate! - No-one ever guesses what it is, and it has gone down the generations, it latest appearance being on Christmas Day this year, at my daughter Anna's Christmas lunch!! (It was a special request from her great, great nephew, 6yr old Sam!) I even remember it being on the menu at the little hotel Auntie Sheila and Uncle Steve ran in Cornwall in the 1980's! She lived life to the full, and she was much loved, and she will be greatly missed by all her friends and family.
